Lists & Layers
I’m finally coming out of my book-writing-cave (more about Between the Lines: Stories from the Underground soon) and have to admit that I didn’t read much while writing my book which was *a journey* and required my undivided attention. That said, I firmly believe you don’t have to read 100+ books a year to be considered a book person and I’m kind of over the act of making lists for the sake of tracking one’s achivement. I try to make lists that help me to remember something I love or I know would be good for me (not always the same). A good list doesn’t create a feeling of (capitalist) pressure in my book (yeah, I did that). A good list gives me space for growth and excitement, and it gives me the opportunity to reveal a new layer of my self that I might not even share with the world right away because it might be just for me.
With that in mind, here are a few books that I’m excited about this Spring. Pick them up for your park hangs and subway rides (crying just thinking about this) and tell me what you think when we see each other on zoom (dates coming soon). In the meantime, pop by my bookshop and send this letter to some book-loving friends.
